Docs & Templates 📃
We’ve been adding some new docs and templates to the HeyCounsel Template Database submitted by community members, including a Domain License Agreement, a Form Stock Surrender Agreement, and a two Legal Hold Notice templates.
If you have templates to share, please reach out to Katy Barreto on Slack for help. As independents, solos and fractional counsel, we’re constantly fighting an uphill battle when it comes to shared resources. Help us fight better!

Shannon Gibson (Employment lawyer; two decades experience; managed workforces up to 22,000; first in-house counsel at two heavily regulated CA companies; expertise in employment lifecycle; former lobbyist)
Matt Margolis (Infamous legal content; founded Margolis PLLC; specializes in fractional GC and commercial litigation; based in Florida)
Ryan Schneer (Founder of Schneer IP Law; specializes in Intellectual Property with a focus on patents)
Sean Galvin (Founder of Galvin Privacy & AI Law; specializes in data privacy and AI governance; licensed in CA and NY; focuses on startups and scale-ups)
Eric Broad (Emerging Companies, Tech, and VC attorney; formerly in NYC big law, now running own firm for 3 years; specializes in corporate, commercial, and transactional law, with a focus on Tech and VC)
Lisa Hanssen (Former in-house counsel in Philadelphia; now at a 6-member law firm serving local clients, including for-profits, municipalities, and NFPs)
Rob Jarrett (UK tech and commercial lawyer; expertise in commercial contracts, data protection, and IP; experience with Royal Bank of Scotland, Aviva, ITV; recently at a legal consultancy; launching Size Seven Law; in an interim role at TikTok)
Darryl Shaper (Techie/entrepreneur/lawyer. Started The Fixed Fee Law Firm PLLC which aims to disrupt the legal space by leveraging AI for clients)
ICYMI: Conversations Happening 🗣️
A few lawyers discussed their preferred approach as it relates to a licensee's rights to software in the event that a licensor goes bankrupt.
One member suggested a solution to incorporating and tracking entities outside of Legal Zoom.
A big group shared resources and discussed the fast moving space of AI regulation in the EU and beyond.
We got a few answers to the question of whether NY Law requires specific language in order to ensure enforceability of an attempt to limit or exclude liability.
